By properly servicing and maintaining your HVAC unit(s), you can avoid these situations.

Strange Noises

In most cases, strange noises coming from your HVAC unit during operation is not normal.  Noises like grinding, hissing, rattling or other odd noises could point to larger issues within your unit.  Scheduling an air conditioning or heating service call quickly can help us evaluate your HVAC unit and provide recommendations before it completely fails.  Our experienced technicians will resolve your issue the first time.

High Energy Bills

If you have an undersized HVAC unit (maybe you’ve expanded your indoor area or it wasn’t sized properly when purchased), the unit does not have the capacity to properly heat and cool your home or office.  Or maybe you’ve seen an increase in your energy bill recently, which could indicate a dying HVAC unit.  Either way we recommend you schedule a service call ASAP to avoid as much down-time as possible.

HVAC Unit is 10+ Years Old

If your HVAC unit is over 10 years old, it’s life may be coming to an end, especially if it has not been maintained properly and serviced every six months.  In addition, it most likely uses R22 freon which has been retired.  Replacing your old system with a new, energy-efficient unit will give you peace of mind while saving you money on your monthly energy bill.

HVAC Not Blowing Cool Air

If it’s hot outside and your air conditioning unit is not blowing cool/cold air, you may have an issue with your compressor or refrigerant.  If your HVAC unit is older and uses R22 freon, the cost of converting it may be more than replacing the unit itself –  not to mention the energy cost savings a new unit will bring.  Schedule service so we can take a look and advise you on the best way to proceed.

Poor or Weak Airflow

If your HVAC unit is barely blowing air, you could have something as minor as a clogged filter, but it may be an indicator of a broken motor, blower fan or something even more serious.  Either way if your HVAC isn’t performing at it’s peak level, your energy costs will increase and the unit’s performance will continue to decrease.   We can analyze the issue and give you an objective opinion of how to proceed to get the best value for your money.

Increased Humidity Levels Inside

An air conditioner is supposed to pull humidity from the air in your home.  If you are experiencing increased humidity inside your home or office, it could be an indicator that your HVAC unit is not performing at it’s peak level, or you may have an under-sized unit.  This also results in decreased air quality and can lead to mold or mildew buildup inside the home.   We recommend having your unit serviced ASAP by one of our trained, experienced technicians here at Lockey Heating and Air.
